Dr. Warshel is an award-winning scholar, author, photographer and speaker (Ph.D. University of California at San Diego, MA University of Pennsylvania, BA University of California at Berkeley). She works at the intersection between international media, child, and conflict zones analysis, practice and policy specializing in peace communication and disability advocacy. She is President of the Association for Middle East Children and Youth Studies, Vice President of the American Institute for Maghrib Studies (North African Studies Association), a Stanford Univeristy-UC Berkeley John Gardner Fellow for Public Service, former professor of communication and international peace and conflict, and author of When Conflict Is Real: Reimagining the Study of Children, Youth and Media in International and Global Conflict Zones, upcoming book under contract with Stanford University Press, and 6-time award winning book, Experiencing the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: Children, Peace Communication and Socialization, published by Cambridge University Press.
